Shapeways Chinese Destroyers

Finished off my Chinese Destroyers, These are the models I brought from shapeways. Very happy with the end product, not as detailed or crisp as GHQ or CinC but still very nice.

There's a Type 52, 51B, 51C and 2x 52Bs.

More progress

Finally finished of my federal 15mm forces.

My shapeways order arrived today as well. For $4-5 a pop can't complain. Little bit grainy so I've hit them with 6 coats of primer and 3 of satin varnish. Seems to have worked a bit.

FIRE THE BROADSIDES!!

We'll not sure they still fire broadsides :p

Finished off my first 2 1/2400 US ships today, very happy with how they turned out and I actually enjoyed the whole process. I think the bases really make the  ships come to life.

My eyes bleed

Have to give credit to the guys that do micro scale modeling. 1/2400 is my first foray into micros and wow my eyes are hurting already. Another ship arrived today, a Ticonderoga guided missile cruiser. Bit disappointed with the cast of this one, the bow was twisted and warped and the mold line through the top of the ship is horrible. The Burke has a small mold line through the top but wasn't as noticeable as this one. Still there cheap and overall pretty nice.

Had a crack at painting the Burke this arvo, did the deck in a darker gray and stacks in black. Glossed it in prep for a pin wash of Ak interactive NATO black wash. Hoping it goes well and makes it pop a bit. Any advice for painting tiny ships is welcome.

Cheers

Progress is made!!

Hullo!!!
Did everyone watch the season finally of Game of Thrones? Amazeballs, thoroughly enjoyed it and with it ending the new season of Falling Skies beings FIZZZZZZZZZ.

This after noon I pretty much finished of my chieftains and swingfires. Took the pictures before the wet pigments went on.
Still awaiting on another troop of chieftains from Qrf.

Got another troop of T80s primed and ready and the BHQ MTLB.

A nice yet tiny package arrived today!
My first of many 1/2400 modern naval ships. This is a Arleigh Burke class from CinC miniatures. Not to bad but soooooo tiny, took a pic next to a infinity model.
Primed and ready!

So that's it for the hobby side today.
Watched Monsters Inc for the first time today with my 2 yr old son, he loved it. Not a bad movie at all.
Today was also the big E3 gaming announcements and WOWzers were they good!
PS4 looks to be the winner IMHO at this stage with Tom Clancy's "The Division" and Metal Gear Solid V being my highlights.

Hope everyone else had a nice day too.
Cheers
